Penguin Birthday Card

For this card I used my cricut with sure cuts alot. The penguin was a free cut file from www.svgcuts.com . Check out their site for the cut file and other freebies. They also sell collections. I made the penguin into a card by putting 2 penguins together and flipping one and then hit weld. The card is 4 1/4 wide by 5 1/2 tall. I cut the base out using the shadow feature on SCAL and then cut the black and other details at the normal cut. I put orange stickles on the beak to give it some sparkle. I did ink around the edges also. Inside I put a scalloped circle and stamped a birthday sentiment on it. Enjoy!

Fall Wreath

Here is a wreath that was created using the Cricut and A Childs Year cartridge. The leaves were cut at 2 1/2 inches. I used 8 1/2 inch paper and set the auto fill button. It calculated 15 leaves at 2 1/2 inches. I used Red cardstock, Yellow cardstock, Green cardstock, Orange cardstock, and Brown cardstock. I cut a silhouette circle for the base of the wreath using George and Basic Shapes cartridge. Each leaf was inked on the edges and then slighty curled to give a realistic shape. The scarecrow came from http://www.svgcuts.com/ from the Harvest Hill Farm collection. He was cut at 6 inches using the sure cuts alot program. There are pieces that are cut for the face but I used a Peachy Keen face stamp for his face. I also cut some acorns from that collection and pop dotted them on the wreath. Stickles were used on some of the leaves to give an extra pop. (ignore the date on picture)Enjoy!

Merry Christmas with Ornaments

For this card I used my Cricut and Sure Cuts Alot and Design Studio. I used SCAL for the font. The font came from Lettering Delights and is called LD Steep. I cut the red on regular and the green using shadow. I moved the letters up and down to give it a different look and welded them. The ornaments came from Joys of the Season and they were cut at 1 and 1/2 inches and 2 inches. I used silver paper for the tops of the ornaments. The background paper came from an old DCWV Christmas stack. I inked the edges with Cranberry ink and then used some of the ink on the paper to tie it together. Enjoy!

The lettering is a font on my computer and cut out with SCAL. The pumpkin in the corner is from the same cartridge cut at 1 1/2 inches. Backed with a yellow tag. Inked all the edges of the orange cardstock and pumpkin. Enjoy!

Fall is in the Air

Today's card is using the Cricut and the SCAL software. The leaves are a free cut file from http://www.svgcuts.com/ I cut them out at 1.5 inches. I used red, orange, green and yellow cardstock for the main leaf. I used brown cardstock for the stem and veins. I then used the shadow feature and cut the shadow out in black to stand out a bit. The lettering is a font on my computer cut out using SCAL. I welded each word which is easier to handle. I also shadowed the lettering and inked each word. For this card I used a free witch hat cut file from svgcuts.com. I cut the hat out using SCAL and my cricut at 2 1/2 inches in black. I used Popcorn pens to give the textured look. I covered the hat with the black pen and then used my heat gun to puff the ink. I used purple and yellow for the decorative part. The background is hand stamped using Studio G stamps. The pumpkins I went around with a fine tip brown marker. The words are stamped with brown ink. I went around the edge of the card with orange ink. The hat is matted on purple 3x3 inches and then mounted on black 3 1/4x 3 1/4 inches. On the purple cardstock I stamped small hats in a darker purple around the witch hat. Witch's Shoe/boot with cut file

I saw this in Paper Crafts Magazine and decided I needed to make one. I made an .svg file with the pattern to make the card easier to cut out. Using a machine to do the cutting is easier and faster. I used purple for the shoe and cut green stripes and then used purple glitter to glam it up. I used black ribbon on the top and the heel of the shoe. I used orange dots (Skittles on the Cricut Message Board) to look like buttons. I used orange paint on clear skittles and they came out great. I think it came out cute for my first attempt. Next time I think I will use patteren paper.
Here is the cut file for the witches boot, this card opens from the side not the top like others have made.

No Frills Father's Day Card

This card is for the father that does not like all the frills that can go on a card. Just a basic card. I used the Cricut to cut the background. It is from the Wild Card cartridge, the Argil cut. The wording comes from http://www.svgcuts.com/. They have some great freebies and they also have great selection of svg files to buy. Go to their blog to see their freebies. This cut was a freebie cut. I used grey cardstock for the base. I used a pattern paper for the argil cut. I used a white gel pen on the diamonds. I cut the words out of red cardstock and put pop-dots behind the letters to pop them up off the front. Like I said a no frills card. Enjoy!

The Bear

Here is a scrapbook page. This bear was in front of my porch walking across the road. I was able to get this picture. I used letters from the computer to make the title. The frame came from PC Crafter Hug Club. I printed the frame and I did the stitch marks around the frame. The buttons were on the frame. The bear cut out was a .svg file from svgcuts.com using the Sure Cuts Alot program. I cut it at 4 inches using my cricut. I cut it little big, but I like how it copies the way the real bear is walking. Enjoy!

Decorative Panels made with Inkscape

This is a card I made just playing arund with inkscape. The 2 black border strips were made in inkscape. I used a decorative font. I took the image and made it to the size I needed and copied and pasted 2 more times. I then put one below the other and grouped and used the union button to weld them together. I then saved the file as an .svg and imported it into SCAL. I then cut out two with my cricut. I does not show but I used black diamond stickles on the design. This is a gate fold card. I used my fiskars border punch on both sides of the card.
Not sure what I will use this card for yet but it is ready to be used. Enjoy!

Hi!

This card is using the cuttlebug corners that I used in my bigshot. The scallop circle is from another project. It was to big for the other project. I cut another circle to fit inside and then ran it through my bigshot with the fiskars texture plate. Went over the texture with charcoal chalk ink. The ric-rac behind the circles is from the negative space from the ric-rac (like a stencil) that I cut out and used on a different project. I used a sponge and some ink and inked the ric-rac on the paper. I went over it with a white gel pen to give the look of stitching. I used SCAL to cut out the letters with a font on my computer at 1 inch. Ran those through the texture plate also. Used Moss Green Chalk ink on the letters. The texture plate is called "Dots". Enjoy!

This card is made using my cricut and the SCAL program. I used the font Bookworm and I welded it together. I made 3 layers. Blue layer cut normal. Black layer shadow at 3. Then a red layer shadow at 4. For the torn paper layer I used the negative space of the anchor that I cut out for a different card. I put the negative space on the cardstock and then used chalk ink and dabbed it onto the paper. Gave the paper a stenciled look. I did used a glossy finish on the letters. Enjoy!

Some Graduation Cards

These cards were made with scraps of paper. I did not have to use any new paper and make more scraps. The grad caps are a .svg file from the internet. I imported the file into SCAL and cut them with my cricut. The file comes as one piece. I used the diamond shape in SCAL to give the cap a different color. I layed the diamond on the cap to get it close to the shape I needed and then moved it to a different location on the mat. I put down to different colors and then cut them out. This way I can costomize the color I need. I used pop-dots behind the caps. The word was done using a font on my computer and cut out at 1 inch. Enjoy!

Scrapbook page

I made this page with SCAL. The frame was a cut file from another site. It started out as a border but I welded them together to make the frame. It cut out really nice. The picture is of my long-hair Chihuahua. She does like her picture taken and this is the best shot of her. The name was done with a font on my computer and SCAL. Enjoy!
