21st Birthday Card

I made this card using Design Studio. (Ignore the date in the photo.) I used Plantin Schoolbook cartridge George and Basic Shapes cartridge. I welded the 21st to a rectangle. I used the shadow feature for the base of the card. I then cut out the regular 21st to layer on the base using a pattern paper. I used the new cuttlebug folder from HSN to give the paper some texture. I used Charcoal cats eye chalk ink on the edges. I then cut the welded "birthday" and ran that through the "Swiss Dots" cuttlebug folder and ran an ink pad over the texture. I then added flowers to the numbers. Some are attached to the number and some are popped up. On the inside of the card I put a layer of white paper and inked the edges also.

Cat Shape Card

This card uses Zoobaloo and George and Basic Shapes cartridges. I used design studio to weld 2 cats together using the shadow feature and also used a square from george cartridge. I cut the card shape out with brown cardstock. I then cut out a regular cat in the dark pink and the layer using the papttern paper. I inked around the edges of the pattern paper and after I glued it down I went around the edges with a white gel pen. I glued wiggle eyes and used pink stickles on the nose and put small dots of stickles on each of the polka dots. Enjoy!

Love Struck 3

Another card made with the seasonal cartridge "Love Struck". The cuts are 2 1/2 inches. I layered the cuts on a solid piece of cardstock and popped it off the patteren paper. The pattern paper is embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I added some pink domes for added interest. Enjoy!

Hannah Montanna Valentine

For this card I used the Hannah Montanna cartridge. I used the butterfly and it was cut at 3 inches. I ran it through the cuttlebug folder "branches" to give some texture. I popped it up on the dark pink paper and used a Martha Stewart border punch on the edge. The word is a dollar stamp. Stamped on cream cardstock with dark brown ink. I inked the edges with the dark brown ink. Tied a ribbon around the panel. Enjoy!

Love Struck Valentine Card

For this card I used one of the cuts I made yesterday. The cartridge is Love Struck. The heart was cut at 3 inches with a dark red cardstock. The shadow was cut at 3 inches with a pink cardstock. The background paper was embossed with the cuttlebug folder titled "Textile". I sanded it down to show some of the white. I tied a ribbon around the card by cutting the fold with a very small cut to fit the ribbon through it and then tied it. A very simple but elegant looking card. Enjoy!

Delicate cuts using the Love Struck Cartridge

These are sample cuts from the Love Struck cartridge. This is one of the new "limited edition" cartridges. Some people were worried about the delicate cuts. The 3 hearts were cut at 3 inches. The cupid was cut at 2 1/2 inches and the bleeding heart was cut at 2 1/2 inches. I used my baby bug and the settings were: blade set at 4, Pressure set at med (3), and the speed was set at high (4). Since every machine acts differently you may have to try a different setting. I hope this will help ease some fears about the delicate cuts. Enjoy!

Snowman Birthday Card

For this card I used design studio and The Snow Friends cartridge. I welded 2 snowmen together. The size of the snowman is 5 1/2. All the layers were cut at the smae size. This cartridge is a "Limited Edition" cartridge. The first collection of several. They have a Spring collection out now that includes Valentines Day, Easter, and Mother's Day. I used my design studio to lay everything out on the mat and then I could lay the paper out and not have much waste. I went around the ear muffs with a white gel pen and the snowmans shirt for stitch marks. If you like snowmen this cartridge is for you. They have ten different snowmen and then all the decorative pieces to go with them. Enjoy!

Get Well Card

For this card I used A Child's Year and Hannah Montanna cartridges. The teapot came from A Chil's Year and was cut at 2 1/2 inches in the grey cardstock and again in pattern paper. I cut the grey teapot apart and attached it to the pattern paper teapot. I used a white gel pen to add some detail to the plain cardstock. I cut the letters out using the Hannah Montanna cartridge. I used the function key Daddy Girl and cut them at 1/2 inch in red cardstock. I then added some red stickles to the letters. I tied the ribbon around the card and tied a bow, which came out good. I then added the flower with a brad to give it something extra. I inked the edges of the pattern paper on the background. Inside it says "Get Well Soon". Enjoy!

Happy New Year 2010

A quick card using the Wild Card Cartridge. Everything is cut at 5 3/4 inches. I used grey cardstock for the base card. I used red for the phrase and black for the liner of the card. Used a white gel pen for the decorative stitch lines and for writing 2010. I made the cork to look like it popped of the bottle. Have a Happy New Year ! Enjoy!
